*******TROLLHUNTER PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ************ ******* TRADER TO AVOID POSTING ANANDTECH FORUMS *********
Cross-traded on May 15, 2012 Other/Unknown
Watts, Dewayne aka m3t4lh34d, MetaLH34D. Multiple cases of misreprenting items and their condition. Sold a flawed 6950 engineering sample vid card with BIOS flashed to 6970 claiming it was an actual 6970. Eventually settled only after victim sent police to his home. Multiple cases of shipping weeks late, poor contact and poor packaging. Multiple cases of leaving retaliatory heat evals for those who leave valid negative evals.

Purchased a video card via money order. Received different item than advertised. Item was returned to seller and a replacement item was received three months later satisfying the exchange.
M3T4LH34D was the Seller on October 3, 2011 AnandTech
I attempted to purchase a Visiontek reference AMD 6970 from m3t4lh34d. I received a flashed 6950 engineering sample card. Initially m3t4lh34d seemed like he wanted to correct the issued, so I sent the card back to him in order to receive either my money back or another 6970 card, this was at the beginning of November. Since then m3t4lh34d has been giving me non-stop excuses for why he hasn't shipped my card. Additionally he seems to have stopped visiting or responding to messages on Anandtech.
After looking on HardForum it seems that not only is he still advertising items for sale, but there are other people waiting for items they have paid him for. Despite him actively posting there, he has not responded to my recent messages.
Bottom line, I would avoid this trader at all costs.

Update 02/07/2012:
I received my card today satisfying the original agreement between myself and m3t4lh34d. Based upon feedback I have received from the other parties I was speaking with, they have received either their products or tracking numbers. To the best of my knowledge as of today there are no buyers waiting on items to ship which they have paid for.
My negative rating of this exchange stands, as it took over 4 months and involvement from law enforcement to complete the transaction. If you choose to engage in future exchanges with m3t4lh34d, my best advice is to ensure you use a payment method that offers some guarantee to help protect yourself.January 14, 2012

purchased a acer 120hz 23.6 in LCD
M3T4LH34D was the Seller on November 27, 2011 AnandTech
I was unsure to do neg or neutral. while I did receive the LCD in full working order, I received it on teh 27th of FEBRUARY. I am pretty sure the only reason I ended up getting it is that another buyer(I beleieve it was alachua) called his local sherriffs office. Either way it was an unnacceptable time frame and dewayne was out of contact for weeks at a time

Bought an MSI R6970. Payment was sent via M.O. in his girlfriends name.
M3T4LH34D was the Seller on September 25, 2011 AnandTech
I did receive the item and it is in working order, but I am marking this as neutral due to the following:
1. M.O. arrived two days after deal was made, but it took two weeks after that for seller to ship.
2. Packaging was (to me) marginally adequate. It was in anti-static with original foam container (not in original box) with a lot of packaging paper to minimize movement.
3. It was stated that item would come with box, manual, and accessories, but all I received was the card.
I had to buy my own power adapter, since I could not way for it to be shipped to me (see #2).
4. Seller was not proactive in keeping me informed with the shipping status (except for when it actually shipped). I always had to ask if the item was shipped yet on each day it was supposed to be. (Multiple "it will ship by this day" follow-ups). Seller did always respond however.
Seller has stated he will send me the missing accessories (having no power adapter was the worst), but it should not have come to this.
Unless otherwise specified, item should have already been in a shippable state.
Everyone has a bad day and he might have just had a couple of bad weeks.
I would most likely buy from this seller again, but would definitely confirm that the item is ready to ship.
If the accessories and manual arrive, I will change it to a positive rating, since I would have ultimately gotten what was agreed upon.October 20, 2011

MSI Twin Frozr II 5770 from him
M3T4LH34D was the Seller on October 27, 2011 AnandTech
I am leaving a neutral evaluation because seller waited more than 3 weeks to ship after I paid him. Although I got my card in working condition, 3+ weeks is entirely too long to wait. Would be hesitant to deal with again.

Good seller, item was priced beautifully. Communication and shipping time could have been a little better, but overall a very positive experience. I would definitely deal with again.
